Fireball Class at HISC

HISC has an active racing fleet of RS800s. This page contains general information about the fleet and our activities. We also have a Yahoo Group for general fleet communications which anybody can join and post to.

Class Captain: Malcolm (Max) Streeton.


Club Racing

Club racing is on Saturday (2:00 pm Start), Sunday (11am Start) and Wednesday  (7pm start) evenings in the summer.

The main racing day is Sunday with two races and usually committee boat starts and laid marks to give windward leeward courses. Racing is either in the bay or the more sheltered harbor depending on the time of year and conditions.

Saturdays and Wednesday evening features more ‘varied’ courses around the harbour.

Training

There is currently no training organized. If you are interested in training at any level ask.


Boat Parking

The RS800 have a prime spot at the front of the club near the car park and next to a slipway.

These item relate to boat modifications. If you have any suggestion you want to pass please let me know and they will be added.

Rear Main Sheet This option which reduces main sheet load was approved for use from 2005. See RS association web site for details.
Continuous kicker This avoid running out of rope on one side! LDC have an information sheet on request.

Class Captains Forum

The class captains from all the fleets at HISC meet regularly to discuss any issue affecting out fleet members. This is a good opportunity to raise issues via the class captain.
