Laser and Radial Qualifier Open 2010 - 17/18 April . . .

In the standard Laser qualifier at HISC, Olympic champion Paul Goodison won both races on Saturday to take a 3 point lead ahead of Felix Pruvet of France. On Sunday with the sun shining, but the wind rather more fickle only one more race was completed. Rob Holmes from Glasson won with Pruvot second and Jean Bernaz (CNSM) in third.

Goodison was the overall winner, Holmes took second and Pruvot third. Stuart Godwin of HISC was fourth and Bernaz fifth with Mike Leigh (RVYC) sixth. Mark Powell of HISC was seventh.

In the Radial Laser event the 101 entrants were split into groups, each completing three races. Again the leader from Saturday took the overall win. Elliot Hanson of Redesmere won both his races Saturday and was third in Sunday's race. Ross Harvey of HISC took second overall with the same points, winning both his races Saturday and discarding a 20th on Sunday.

Third overall was James Grant from Restronguet who won his race on Sunday ahead of Jon Emmett of Weir Wood who finished in fourth overall. Mathias Van de Loock (RBSC) was fifth and Tom Bitz of Royal Lymington sixth. - GN
