Youth Supervised Sailing . . .
The Training Committee are pleased to announce a new initiative for the 2010 season. Youth Supervised Sailing (YSS) will run every Saturday from 1 May.
As detailed in the new HISC Yearbook this is aimed at providing a supervised area & time slot when any children under 16 or parent and child combinations can safely practice their sailing skills on a triangular course set on West Mud or Pilsey Sands.
The course will be set between 11.00 and 13.00 hours every saturday (weather permitting) with safety boat cover for that area. If parents wish to use this facility to run a training session within the course area during that time they may do so with prior permission from the Marine Department.
The aim of YSS is to encourage time on the water without the pressures of racing. - DD

Trustee Resolution . . .
At the AGM in October 2009 a Resolution put forward by a member to place a limitation of 12 years on the tenure of Trustees was put into abeyance to give the Policy Committee (PC) the opportunity to give proper consideration to the pros and cons of such a limitation as part of a wider review of the role of the Trustees.
It was agreed that the PC would table its own Resolution at least 52 days before the 2010 SGM to be held on 25 April, so that members would have the opportunity to put forward their own Resolutions if they so wished.
This PC-backed Resolution can now be viewed either at the Documentation section of the Members area of the HISC website or on the club notice board. - MW
