Optimist meeting 31 March 2012 . . .
Whilst we may be able to set up ad hoc Optimist training or racing during the winter (keep an eye out for emails) I wish to meet as many sailors and parents as possible on Saturday 31st March so we can discuss our plans for the new season and to allocate dinghy parking spaces etc. My
aim would be to meet in the main bar at 12 noon.
I am also hoping to offer a boat checking and help service to get your Opis up to scratch for the new season. I am very happy to sign Bouyancy Certificates through the Easter holidays so hopefully we can get off to a good start . . . more on LINK below . . .

Just click your Esc button on your keyboard to reduce it to normal size in your browser.
You can click the arrow at the side of each page or drag a corner of the page over, sounds as well. You can enlarge areas or use the slider at top - You will need Flash installed - GN

HISC new RIB . . .
The new HISC RIB is an XS 650 equipped with an Evinrude E-tec115hp. There are a number of custom fit outs on this boat to make it “work” in our environment. These include; Double cladding on bows - Heavy rubber strake down the stem of the hull - Leaning post driving position (like Franks!) but with a pop up seat to rest those legs from time to time! - Internal fuel tank - Under floor wiring giving the deck of the boat a very clean clutter free feeling - 6 tie down points in the hull for securing marks etc to - We have had a trailer made by Indespension of Southampton that has been converted to “HISC beach use”.
A few things still required which include, painter, tow strop, vhf base station and aerial along with some petrol and oil. Initial testing will begin in Januray. Plus see the article below on naming the RIB . . . - CR
