What is a race briefing – do I need to attend?

Yes it’s a good idea. It explains race information on the day of racing

  • Informative mini race subject talk - tell tales, laylines, start line tips

  • Where the racing area is and how the race course works

  • Where the start and finish line is positioned

  • Tide and Wind conditions

  • Sound signals and countdown to the race

  • RS Venture helm and crew team selection

Briefing location and times

Please attend the briefing ready in sailing kit with your own boat rigged.

  • Meet at the RS Ventures where you see the GRC Black Sail Banner

  • Briefing time 2.15 pm

  • Race start 3:00 pm

Who can compete in Get Racing Club?

  • Male & Female adults 

  • Youth (over 15’s)

  • Adult helm & child crew

Which boats can take part?

  • Any boat (except RS Tera and Optimist)helmed by an adult or youth   over 15 

  • Typical boats that take part - RS Venture, Laser, RS Vision, Laser 2000, RS 200, Wayfarers,  RS Quba, RS Feva, Laser Stratos and many other classes. 

What is a race debriefing?

Race feedback can be invaluable after the race 

  • Shore based mentor feedback from observations of the racing;

  • Summary of the briefing subject talk 

  • Questions and answers from participants
