HISC Perisher Pursuit Race - 16 February 2013

Ben and Roz McGrane, sailing a Merlin Rocket were
winners of the inaugural HISC Perisher Pursuit race from an entry
of 65 boats. Second was the RS200 of David and Fiona Sayce, with
third another Merlin, that of Richard Whitworth and Sarah Bines,
all three from HISC.
Sailed in light wind conditions the first away was the Mirror of
Nigel Thomas and Monique Vennis-Ozanne. For over two hours
the HIll Head pair kept the chasing pack behind them but with 15
minutes to go they were caught by the McGranes and eventually
finished 22nd . . .
Fourth place went to Roger and Jane Gilbert in a Merlin Rocket,
fifth to the National 12 of Jon Ibbotson and Andrea Ralph of
Ranelagh SC, sixth was the leading Solo of Charlie Cumbley,
seventh Tim Fells and Jerry Eplet, Merlin Rocket,
eighth Pete Mitchell, Solo, ninth Ian Swan, RS700 and
rounding out the leading ten, the Solo of Michael Sims from
Carsington SC.

from 09:00 hrs.
Saturday 16 February 2013 - First start 13:30 hrs
Entry
Entry is open to all monohull dinghies with a PY of 1459 and
below
Locally adjusted PY numbers will be used to determine the
pursuit race start times
Also the Keelboat classes: Artemis 20, Flying 15, RS K6, RS
Elite, X boat, Swallow, Sunbeam, Hawk, Star, Yngling
Other classes may be accepted at the discretion of the
organizing authority
Eligible boats may enter at the Hayling Island SC office on the
day of the event.
Entry fees are as follows:
Single-handed boat: £7.00 (under 18 £5.00)
Two-handed boat: £8.00 (under 18 £5.00)
Three-handed boat: £9.00

Boat Parking
Trailer storage will be in a
designated area in the Carpark next to the Lifeboat station, please
ensure all trailers are labelled with owners name and sail
number.
Mobile homes/Camper vans
No mobile homes/camper vans may
remain within the precincts of the club, which includes the
car park, overflow car park and the causeway, between the hours of
23.00 and 07.00hrs unless they have pre-booked and paid the
prevailing rate to the club office. The number of available spaces
is restricted and the camper van must be parked in the allocated
area as directed by the HISC Office.
Please help by abiding with this
rule so that HISC complies with the law and retains the goodwill of
its neighbours.
