Competitors Briefing: Saturday 23 September at 11:00

For many, Hayling is considered the spiritual home of windsurfing. The Round Hayling Island Race is a great celebration of the sport first staged in 1980, the 14 miles circumnavigation can take anything from 60 minutes to 6 hours

In recent years the event has seen the inclusion of Open Canoes (OC1) and Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP) with their own course just off the beach.

Starting from HISC competitors  will be required to sail through four gates on the course.

One will be positioned in the area of Northney Marina (gate 1)  at the top of Chichester Harbour, one near the Ferryboat Inn (gate 2) on the west side of Hayling Island.

One directly to the south of the Inn on the Beach on Hayling seafront (gate 3) and one to the south of the HM Coastguard look out on the seafront (gate 4). Failure to pass through these gates will result in disqualification.

There will be options to finish at Gate 1 or 2.

SailRacer is pleased to be involved with this iconic event, providing the event website, online entry, GPS tracking and live coverage.
