Welcome to the RS Feva Section of the HISC Website
At HISC there are all kinds of RS Feva sailors, from
family sailing and youth of all levels, from beginner to National
squad level. RS Fevas can be rented from the club so anyone can
have a go. The Feva youth have lots of friends and have fun, they
can often be seen just hanging out together, when they are not on
the water.
RS Feva racing
The Fevas join in the youth racing
on Sunday, racing is at 11.00am with a youth briefing beforehand,
in or outside the training rooms. The racing is sprint style, three
windward, leeward races. Every month is a new series of three
weekends. Parent and child combinations are aloud. Once a month is
a Pennant weekend with three races on the Saturday and Sunday open
meeting style. See the Youth Fixture List.
Youth Race Week
This open event is one of the
premier events in the RS Feva Calendar, as it is a must for the new
pairings cut their teeth as the quality of the racing is of a very
high standard. We always have excellent race officers and a choice
of inside and outside the harbor. This year promises to be full of
fun off the water events and as usual the Youth ball.
Women on Water - WOW
Women on Water is now in it's fifth
year at the club. This popular session runs mid week on social
hours. You can be a complete beginner or a budding improver there
is always something new to learn and sailing in the company or
other women makes for a relaxed atmosphere. Also look out for
"Ladies who Launch"
Family Fun
Parent and child combinations are
very common in this fleet, with sprint style racing, to the "Mud
Larks" sailors who are not yet racing but building confidence on
west mud. "Family Fun Week" a popular holiday in August. Check your
club calendar for the dates. This years motto for the youth is
Saturdays are "Fun Days" and Sunday are "Race days" Remember the
more fun your child had the more likely they are to get out on the
water.
Feva Fun day
The Youth committee got together and
they have some new fun activities planned for this year. Look out
for the "Youth news" that comes out with the subscription letters.
The Fevas have their very own "Fun day" Saturday 29th June,
planned. All I need from you is ideas of what you want to do on
your own special day. We want to make it so good that the other
fleets will want to join in too. Please email me your suggestions

Hayling Class Squad and Training
Beginner Feva sailors can start in
"Youth Training Week," where they can get RYA certificates. There
are also private coaches who can help adults and children improve
their sailing technique. Phone the club for details. Details can
also be found in the "HISC Training Brochure"
For the more
experienced racing sailors, there is a five weekend winter "RS Feva
Class Squad" this is an RS Feva class recognized regional squad. To
be selected for this squad the sailors must show that they are
committed to racing, and can attend all weekends available. The
quality of coaching is very high and many successful international
sailors have trained in this squad.
