Junior Sailing

HISC organises a comprehensive programme of fun sailing for children of all ages.

  • HISC SEALS: Aimed at getting the under 10s happy and confident on the water - SEALS is not to be missed!  It is a great opportunity to build confidence in the water and make lifelong friends in the safety of the HISC Lagoon at high water.  For dates see the HISC calendar, the SEALS page on HISC website, Facebook and the Yahoo newsgroup.

  • This year, as well as various activities to enjoy, SEALS has some boats to borrow - Optimists, Teras and Fevas and possibly some "Oppi on a rope" lessons for the little ones.  Parents remain responsible for their children during SEAL events.

  • YOUTH SUPERVISED SAILING: A full programme of fun sailing to encourage juniors to progress. Every Saturday in June, July, August and September there is an afternoon of activities led by an instructor and parents.  Briefings at 1pm and then on the water asap!  All ages and abilities welcome.  Parents must be available to help out by either sailing with the children or helping out in rescue boats.

  • VENTURES: the opportunity to hire a safe family boat for day sailing. (The Club has several youth boats available for hire).

  • FAMILY FUN WEEK 7 - 11 August. A truly action-packed week for all the family! Grab your crab catching buckets, design your award winning sand castle, practise your welly wanging and join in the fun!

  • COBNOR CAMPING WEEKEND . All welcome!  A sail down to Cobnor (near Bosham) with overnight camping and local sailing on Saturday. Sail back on Sunday - the more the merrier!  Please register your interest with the office.

  • YOUTH CRUISING WEEKENDS . For all HISC cruising families. The HISC Cruisers will set sail with youth sailors for a weekend adventure. Please register your interest with the office.
