Youth Racing at HISC

HISC Youth Racing

Youth Racing is very successful with ever growing numbers of young sailors learning to race at HISC.  There are opportunities to progress both at HISC, and also in youth squads to national and international level.  Several young Club members have achieved this.

Within the Youth Sunday series less confident and new youth racers are offered advice and guidance around the race course, help can be offered if required.  More confident racers are given a gold vest to wear and race according to the RYA racing rules without assistance.

Sunday Series

In 2017 all junior and youth classes will race on Sunday mornings in a monthly race series.

  • Briefing at 10am.  First start 11am

Pennant Weekends

There will be racing on both Saturday and Sunday on Pennant weekends.

  • Saturday Briefing 1pm

  • Sunday Briefing 10am

Youth Pursuit Races

On Bank Holiday Mondays HISC hold popular Pursuit Races. There is always a separate youth course which is not as long as competing with the adults!

HISC Youth Open Race Week

Popular August week with competitive open racing in all junior and youth races.  There are usually 2 races per day. See event information here
