Welcome to the HISC Red Ribbon
HISC Red Ribbon is all about the HISC Juniors having fun, gaining confidence and getting out onto the water with safety cover. The Red Ribbon fleet is for the children who have learnt the basics of sailing and now need to improve to the next level, learning to sail with other boats and get going on the race course! For Red Ribbon events we ask that all participants are capable of sailing a triangular course.
The Red Ribbon get their name because they fly a red ribbon from the top of their mast so the race team and rescue crews can recognize the novice racers. The Red Ribbon also have a fleet in Youth Race Week to get a feel of a real regatta.
In 2011 in addition to the Red Ribbon Youth Racing we will also be organising some Red Ribbon Event Days: please put these in your diaries - and parents please come and help out!
