HISC Historical Archive

International 12sq m Canoe display by HISC Archives

In the Archive collection we have a large number of early photographs and press cuttings of Canoe events here at Sandy Point. We are showing a number of these in the Archive cabinets in the Dining Room, in time for the National Championship of the UK Canoe class in July. The HISC Centenary Book – “A 100 years in the Making” features further photographs and one can appreciate the influence these early Canoe sailors have had on the overall advancement of dinghy sailing. The book is available from the HISC office. The exhibition will be in place for several months.

Next time you at HISC, please go to the Dining Room and take a look at the display.

In the central cabinet is a fascinating collection of prizes awarded to Pam Marrs and her family over a number of decades. Another aspect of HISC’s varied history.
