Commodores Chat July 2025 - Our New general Manager

Dear Member,

Further to my last note, I am delighted to let you know that we have appointed a new General Manager who started today.

Chris Rainbow has been working in Saudi Arabia for over ten years and brings extensive experience of managing a wide range of water-based activities at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST). Chris knows HISC from casual work he carried out on the winter haul out as a young man, and also from helping out with major events. Prior to heading to Saudi, Chris worked for several years at 2XS in West Wittering, and prior to that at Sunsail.

We are all aware that there is much to understand about Hayling Island Sailing Club, and I know you will join me in welcoming Chris and helping him to settle into his new role.

I would also like to thank John Message for standing in as Interim GM, assisted again by Mike Massey.

While writing, we are continuing to work on the incorporation process discussed at the SGM, and there will be an informal drop-in session this Sunday at the club. I will be in the Dining Room between 3pm and 4pm, so if you want to come and ask questions or share any relevant experiences that you might have, please do come and find me.

With best wishes,

Graham Williamson
