Rooster Announced as Title Sponsor for Europe Europeans

Announcement: Rooster become Title Sponsor of Rooster International Europe Class Master & Youth European Championship
We are thrilled to announce that Rooster Sailing has come on board as the title sponsor for the upcoming 2025 Masters and Youth Europe European Championships, to be held at the prestigious Hayling Island Sailing Club.
This marks a major moment in UK sailing history. 26 years ago, Hayling Island last hosted the Europe European Championships, welcoming 190 boats to its shores. That was the last time an internationally significant championship for the Europe class was held in the UK.
Meanwhile, it’s been 39 years since Steve Cockerill, founder of Rooster Sailing, won his first UK & Open National Championships in the Europe class. Just one week ago, he claimed his 11th UK and Open National title—a true testament to his enduring passion for this fantastic boat. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Europe Europeans to help celebrate and elevate this iconic class, and we look forward to connecting with the sailors who make it so special.”
— Steve Cockerill, Founder & Chairman, Rooster
43 years ago, Mark Woods, our esteemed International Race Officer for the event, was also racing Europes. Now, with just one month to go, he’s looking forward to running what promises to be an exceptional championship—backed by the news that Rooster is leading the charge.
As part of their support, Rooster will be providing a superb selection of kit, not only for overall prizes, but also daily spot prizes—rewarding sailors for attitude, spirit, and sportsmanship shown on the water.
While early entry closed last week, entries are still being accepted—and with such amazing prizes on offer, the extra entry fee more than pays for itself.
Mark Woods is particularly excited by the entry list so far—but he’s made a polite plea to Masters and Mistresses across Europe and the UK: get your entries in! We need your participation to match the energy of the youth fleet—otherwise, he’ll be constantly adjusting the start line length!
In true Hayling spirit, the opening ceremony promises something very special: we’ve summoned the God of the Sea himself—Neptune! A representative from each nation will offer a vessel of water from their home country. These will be poured into the cockpit of a Europe dinghy to symbolise unity across our waters, marking the start of the event with food & drinks, a live band and DJ for the entertainment.
Hayling Island Sailing Club has hosted countless world-class events. With its expert race management, experienced safety teams, incredible race area, and warm onshore welcome, it’s truly a club of international calibre. As they say—if Heineken made sailing clubs, they’d have made Hayling Island.
“We are delighted to have Rooster on board for the Europe Europeans and everyone at HISC is looking forward to a great event!”
– Graham Williamson, Commodore
Our local Europe sailors are buzzing with excitement to welcome fleets from across the continent. When you arrive, you can expect a warm handshake, a friendly smile, and a shared passion for this beautiful class.
So, whether you’re a Youth, a Master, or somewhere in between—get your entry in now. Rooster is ready. Hayling is ready. Let’s make this a championship to remember.
